Brad is first joined by Dr.Margaret Klein Salamon, a clinical psychologist and now Founder and Director of 'The Climate Mobilization,' an organization that calls for moving from climate grieving to emergency mode.

Abortion is Essential: Attacks on Reproductive Rights During COVID-19 Pandemic
Thursday Apr 16, 2020
Thursday Apr 16, 2020
Today's guest hosts are Charlotte Hancock and Edwith Theogene, Communications Director and Organizing Director for Generation Progress.
Today's discussion is about an alarming trend that has emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic: at least seven states across the South and the Midwest have used this pandemic to declare abortion services non-essential and attempt to prevent some or all abortions from taking place as long as stay at home or shelter in place orders are in effect. These policies are incredibly harmful and dangerous—but thankfully, many organizations are fighting back. Over the weekend, the debate in Texas reached the Supreme Court, but—after an appellate court restored some abortion access in Texas last night—the battle is now back to the lower courts.
To talk more about this situation and why abortion is very much an essential service, today's guests are Elisabeth Smith, the Chief Counsel for State Policy and Advocacy at the Center for Reproductive Rights, and Dr. Kristyn Brandi, the Board Chair of Physicians for Reproductive Health and an Assistant Professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

They give some advice as to what Vice President Biden can do to earn the votes of Bernie supporters, and preview his general election matchup with President Trump.
During the second half of the show, Brad leads a political round-table with Tara Devlin and Mark Grimaldi. The roundtable adds to the discussion of Sanders endorsing Biden, and what type of policies Sanders supporters would like to see Biden advocate for going forward. The Impact of COVID-19 on Immigration Detention and Enforcement
Thursday Apr 09, 2020
Thursday Apr 09, 2020
Today's guest hosts are Brent J. Cohen and Charlotte Hancock, Executive Director and Communications Director for Generation Progress.
This week's show is about another group of people being uniquely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic—undocumented immigrants and people who are being detained by immigration enforcement agencies. Many undodcumented people are on the frontlines of coronavirus response—whether they are healthcare providers or essential employees making sure that basic necessities are still available to the general public—but, even during a pandemic, they are forced to worry about whether or not they will be able to remain in this country. As we wait for a decision from the Supreme Court on the DACA case, even Dreamers who previously had a certain degree of security about their immigration status are now being forced to consider that everything might change. Meanwhile, people who are already being detained by ICE or CBP are in immediate danger of the pandemic spreading rapidly through detention facilities, where they will almost certainly not receive adequate care.
To talk more about this situation and what can be done to protect vulnerable people, the show is joined by Sanaa Abrar, the advocacy director at United We Dream and Setareh Ghandehari, the advocacy manager at the Detention Watch Network.
Here are the Twitter handles for today's guests and their respective organizations: Sanaa Abrar - @sanaashine, United We Dream - @UNITEDWEDREAM, Detention Watch Network - @DetentionWatch

The roundtable adds to the discussion of the topics covered in the first segment, and also talks about the economic struggles that lower and middle income Americans are beginning to face during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moe Vela served in President Obama’s administration as the Director of Administration and Senior Advisor in the Office of Vice President Joe Biden. The stint was the second White House appointment for Mr. Vela, who served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Advisor on Hispanic Affairs for Vice President Al Gore. Mr. Vea holds the distinction of being the first Hispanic American and gay American to serve twice in a senior executive role in the White House. His Twitter handle is @MoeVela.

Friday Apr 03, 2020
During the first half of the show, Leslie is joined by Hope Frye, an internationally recognized immigration lawyer focused on disadvantaged populations, especially women and children. She is the Co-founder and executive director of 'Project Lifeline,' a nonprofit focused on children who are or were in immigration detention in CBP jails, ORR shelters or ICE family detention facilities. Their mission spans the child’s experience with the goal of providing continuity of care. They are the only nonprofit with a medical and legal programs.
Leslie and Hope discuss two new court rulings, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, that could force Trump to release migrant children and parents. His administration is facing a spate of lawsuits across the country calling on them to close immigration courts and release migrants from often overcrowded, unsanitary detention facilities that medical experts have said are “tinderboxes” for the virus. A Federal Judge reviewing the situation called the detention facilities “hotbeds for contagion” that pose “unprecedented threats” of “irreparable harm” amid the pandemic.
The website for 'Project Lifeline' is www.ProjectLifeline.us and their Twitter handle is @ProjLifeline.
During the second half of the show, Leslie is joined by Colonel Cedric Leighton, Founder and President of Cedric Leighton Associates, a strategic risk and leadership consultancy serving global companies and organizations. He founded the company in 2010, after serving in the US Air Force for 26 years as an Intelligence Officer and attaining the rank of Colonel.
They discuss Navy Captain Brett Crozier, who was fired just four days after he pleaded for help as the coronavirus ravaged his crew on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Crozier had sent an urgent letter to the U.S. Navy on Sunday, seeking to evacuate and isolate the crew as cases of coronavirus infection increased on the aircraft carrier. Some 113 members of the crew had tested positive as of yesterday, which is by far the U.S. military’s largest coronavirus outbreak to date in the pandemic.Videos posted on social media showed a huge send-off for Captain Crozier, with hundreds of service members on the hanger deck of the vessel, which is currently docked in Guam, chanting "Captain Crozier! Captain Crozier!" and clapping.
