In this must-listen hour of the Leslie Marshall Show, she's joined by the inimitable progressive talk show host, and Author, Thom Hartmann.
Thom's promoting his first in a series of historical works called the "Hidden History Series," and in this initial installment, he's tackling guns.
In "The Hidden Histories of Guns and the Second Amendment," Thom breaks down, in fact-based detail, some of the underlying problems with guns and gun violence in America. He also documents how these date back literally to the founding of the country.
Thom's book is already rising up the top selling rankings on Amazon.com, and in a digestible, and well-researched prose, his analysis is already being considered, "a powerful book that is incisive as a stepping-stone to a new understanding about and approach to gun reform in the Wild West of nations.”
'The Thom Hartmann Program' is an absolute CAN'T MISS show in our fight to RESIST Trump and his Republican cronies. You can listen to or watch the program a number of different ways. You can catch it live, Monday through Friday from noon-3pm ET at ProgressiveVoices.com, on 'SiriusXM Progress,' or on 'Free Speech TV.'

The guest host for today's show is Brad Bannon. Brad runs Bannon Communications Research, a polling, message development and media firm which helps labor unions, progressive issue groups and Democratic candidates win public affairs and political campaigns. His new show, 'Deadline D.C. with Brad Bannon,' airs every Monday from 3-4pm ET.
Today, Brad is joined by two guests to unpack the recent Democratic debates from Miami, Florida.
In the first half hour, he speaks with Charlie Cook, Publisher and Editor of 'the Cook Political Report.' Dubbed by Brad himself as one of the most important political strategists in the United States, Charlie offers Brad his qualified and unique perspective to the debate analysis.
While the consensus opinion was that Senator Kamala Harris had a stand out night, Charlie Cook doesn't rule out the seriousness of an-on-the-defensive Joe Biden.
Cook also makes note of Mayor Pete Buttigieg's incredible fundraising effort in quarter two. 'Mayor Pete' has raised over $25 million dollars in the past three months, and typically the campaigns with the fattest purses tend to survive the longest.
Watch for several campaign stops in the very early primary states. Cook says a majority of the lesser known candidates will focus mainly on Iowa and New Hampshire. Indeed, almost every Democratic nominee for President hasn't taken the nomination without a victory in one of the first two states on the ballot next winter.
In the second half hour, Brad's joined by Mike Fraioli , a top adviser to Congressman Tim Ryan's campaign for President.
Mike argues that Rep. Ryan is the best candidate to take on President Trump because he's running on the core issues that affect working American families the most.
Simply put, Congressman Ryan's focus is on "kitchen table" issues: better paying jobs for everyday people, alongside affordable health care options for working families.
It is through this focused lens, Fraioli argues, that will allow for Tim Ryan to succeed in the Democratic Primary race.

Stonewall50: LGBTQ+ and Labor Unions
Saturday Jun 29, 2019
Saturday Jun 29, 2019
In this hour of "The Leslie Marshall Show," Leslie is joined by Fred Redmond, International Vice President (Human Affairs) for the United Steelworkers (USW).
On the 50th anniversary of the "Stonewall Riots" in NYC, commonly credited with the birth of the LGBTQ rights movement, Fred shares the new pro-LGBTQ initiatives that the USW is undertaking.
In a movement to both bolster LGTBQ involvement in the labor movement, and also dispel previous stereotypes of the typical 'blue collar worker,' (i.e. white, male, middle-aged, mid-Western), Fred thinks now is the best time to rethink how Labor Unions treat and support members of the LGBTQ community.
By partnering with the 'Pride at Work' non-profit organization, the USW is primed to augment their LGBTQ workers in their ongoing fight for social and economic justice.
