Challenging Trump's National Emergency Declaration in the Courts
Tuesday Feb 19, 2019
Tuesday Feb 19, 2019
During this hour of "The Leslie Marshall Show," Leslie first breaks down the latest scandal in the Donald Trump Presidency, this time involving a potential nuclear energy deal with the Saudis.
In the second half of the show, Leslie is joined by Robert Weissman, President of Public Citizen, a nonprofit consumer advocacy organization that champions the public interest in the halls of power.
With the effects of President Trump's national emergency declaration regarding the border wall with Mexico still unresolved, Leslie and Robert investigate what impact this declaration could have on ranchers, farmers, and everyday people living at the proposed border site.
Fears of land seizures, known as eminent domain, are beginning to grab headlines, as it is reported that there are thousands of potential American homes threatened due to the proposed border wall's construction.
Does President Trump national emergency set a dangerous precedent? What constitutes a national emergency anyway?
Robert Weissman explains in detail during this must-listen hour of the Leslie Marshall Show.

In this must-listen episode of "The Leslie Marshall Show," Leslie is joined by James Lamond, Managing Director of The Moscow Project and Senior Policy Advisor at the Center for American Progress.
The Moscow Project is an initiative of the Center for American Progress Action Fund dedicated to analyzing the facts behind Trump’s collusion with Russia and communicating the findings to the public.
Since Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker testified before Congress today, there were plenty of highlights to chew on for Leslie and her guest.
You'll hear plenty of clips between members of the House of Representatives and AG Whitaker, with predictable grand-standing and non-answers from Whitaker on a myriad of topics.
He repeatedly refused to answer any questions of his opinions of the ongoing Mueller investigation, and was outwardly combative and sarcastic at times.

Leslie is joined by, Retired Air Force Colonel, Cedric Leighton, to get his expertise on the current crisis in Venezuela. They also discuss the new report from Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, which warns of more aggressive election meddling against the U.S. in 2020.
"The report predicts Russian social media campaigns will focus on "aggravating" social and racial tensions and striking back at anti-Kremlin politicians. Moscow may also seek to spread disinformation, launch cyberattacks and manipulate data.
In his written assessment, Coats warned about countries creating convincing fake audio and video — known as "deepfakes," for instance. They may also use cyber means to "directly manipulate or disrupt election systems — such as by tampering with voter registration or disrupting the vote tallying process — either to alter data or to call into question our voting process."
